dancing around your bed, ridiculing your flaws,
whispering lies into your ears,
tearing your heart apart and stringing your heartbeats
into a chain rhyme of melancholy—

tell me all about the demons no one believes you’ve had to fight!

Is this life not a race we are meant to run together-
am I not by birth, by existence, under an oath
to walk with you and love you without condition –
