The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination recognizes the vital role youth and children play in advancing advocacy to end all forms of discrimination globally.
More than 50 years ago, on 21 December 1965, the United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 2106, which established the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD).
Today's youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow; but also the voices for this vital convention and each day genuinely acting as the catalysts for change in our communities today.
Through their passion, creativity, and determination, young people are driving conversations, challenging norms, and championing inclusivity like never before.
At Nkunzi Foundation, we recognize and celebrate the power of youth voices in addressing racial discrimination; we believe in empowering young people to become advocates for equality and justice in their schools, workplaces, and beyond.
This International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, we call upon young people everywhere to join the cause through all means available - education, activism, or simply standing up against injustice, as we every action counts in the fight against racism.
